Birth of the Cactus League
Baseball teams first began coming to Arizona for spring training after World War II, drawn by warm weather, open ballfields, and curious local fans. Those early games grew into the Cactus League, a springtime tradition that now brings Major League Baseball and millions of fans to Arizona each year.

Diversity in Baseball  -
Japanese Internment Basebal
l
During World War II, Japanese Americans held in internment camps used baseball as a way to build community, preserve dignity, and create moments of normalcy. Their teams, leagues, and homemade ballfields tell an overlooked chapter of American baseball history.

Fan Experiences
Fans have always been part of the story of baseball, and their memories are as entertaining as the game itself. This exhibit shares real fan moments each year, from childhood souvenirs to larger-than-life characters who stole the show.  We invite the fans to submit stories to us throughout the year and they may be used in our next exhibit

Baseball Organists
For decades, the sound of the stadium organ signaled everything from rally moments to seventh-inning stretches. Our Baseball Organists exhibit honors Bobby Freeman and Nancy Faust, two veteran performers who turned ballpark music into an unforgettable part of baseball culture.
